Roulette? Not as you know it!

So having selected a horse on William Hill's web site (other sites are available), you might think "while I wait, I'll just have a go on their roulette game". Unless you are determined to throw your money away, then don't do it - this is not a real casino, and the roulette game is as close to the real thing as a shark is to a goldfish.

You may have thought that you were dealing with a random number generator selecting a number between 0 and 36 - nothing could be further from the truth. The system is intelligent, it knows how much you have bet in total, and is designed to give you a percentage (less than 100%) of that money back. To the system every number on the wheel represents a percentage of the amount of money that you have lost to that point from the beginning of your session (or even the beginning of your account), it then selects a number from those which fit the profile i.e. maintain a particular rate of loss.

So yes you will have spectacular wins from time to time, but on payment your net will always be a loss.

This is not fraud apparently  - the system is called 'a game' - as far as the law is concerned you are merely killing time.

So don't do it - you cannot win!!
